LAHORE, Dec 5: A hurricane century by Test discarded Moin Khan helped Karachi Whites earn a big 272-run lead against Sialkot in Quaid-i-Azam Trophy at Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot on Sunday.

Moin, who has been dropped from Australian's tour despite being the only experienced wicket-keeper available for the team, hit 169-ball 162 as Karachi Whites were 670-9 when stumps were drawn for the day.

Karachi Whites resumed the innings at 282 for three while giving reply to Sialkot first innings total of 398. Moin dominated with the bat and hit 23 boundaries and two sixes to prove his form and fitness to the selectors.

Moin with Rizwan Saeed (85, 11 fours, two fours, 92 balls) added 133 runs in seventh wicket stand. Moin was eventually caught by Zahid Saeed off part-time off-spiner Shahid Yousaf.

Earlier, the overnight Muhammad Farrukh who resumed at 117 was out for 145 cracking 25 fours off 252 balls. Medium-pacer Sarfraz Ahmed and Zahid Saeed took four wickets each but they paid 181 and 190 runs, respectively.
