HYDERABAD: Establishment of educational board opposed

HYDERABAD, Dec 5: The local chapter of the Islami Jamiat-i-Tulba held a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Sunday against the proposed constitution of Aga Khan educational board.

Speaking on the occasion, IJT leader Abdullah Siddiqui said the students' community would not accept establishment of the board. He said the board was being established at the insistence of the US to secularize education and society. He demanded that the proposal to form the board should be dropped forthwith.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE: The director general of the Khana-i-Farhang, Hyderabad chapter, here on Sunday announced that to protect the literary heritage of Iran and Pakistan, the Khana-i-Farhang would grant financial aid to candidates seeking admission to B.A and M.A in the Persian language.

SELF-FINANCE SCHEME: The director admission, University of Sindh, has announced that the university is opening admission to three years B.A honours programme in economics under evening programme on self-finance scheme.

Interested candidates who have passed intermediate in arts, science and commerce from any board can apply for admission on open merit. For three years B.A honour programme in economics total fees has been fixed as Rs24,000 payable in instalments at the semester level. Admission forms can be obtained from Dec 7 while the last date for submission has been fixed as Dec 16.
