KARACHI, Dec 1: The Sindh Food Department's low-grade employees, who have been on hunger strike for the last 57 days, on Wednesday announced to immolate themselves in front of the Sindh Secretariat or outside the Karachi Press Club on December 7 if their demands were not fulfilled till December 6.
They demanded the government to save the lives of workers and fulfil their demands, saying they were fed up with the persisting apathy of policy makers, said a statement.
They appealed to the government to implement the summary earlier approved by the cabinet to regularize 490 watchmen working at various offices for long, or authorities would be held responsible for the loss of lives. They said since the chief minister had announced to regularize watchmen, they had been waiting to see implementation of those claims. - PPI
