FAISALABAD, Nov 25: Gangsters shot dead a villager, looted thousands of rupees and other valuables, took away four cars, two motorcycles and a mini-truck in 10 strikes in the city and its suburbs during the last 24 hours.

Highwaymen shot dead car rider Muhammad Iqbal when he put up resistance on the Makuana Bypass Road. Two masked bandits took away Rs80,000 in cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from Shahid Ali in Gulberg.

A gang of bandits made off with thousands of rupees and valuables at gunpoint from a general store in Millat Chowk in the Sargodha Road police limits. Some unidentified highwaymen drove away with a mini-truck from Akhtar Aziz near Chak No. 71 GB.

Bandits wearing police uniforms took away a taxi-car at gunpoint from Asghar Ali on the Faisalabad-Jhang Road. Three dacoits drove away with a car (FSA-5331) from Taj Din in People's Colony.

Unknown thieves took away a motorcycle (FDW-7860) of Abdul Samad from Jinnah Colony and another two-wheeler (FSC-8586) of Shafqat from Gulistan Colony. Vehicle-lifters took away a car (HIJ-719) of Muhammad Nadeem from Mansoorabad and another car (FSB-6800) of Waqar Ahmed from People's Colony.
