Trade with Sweden to be 'increased'

LAHORE, Nov 24: Punjab Investment, Commerce and Industries Minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema has said that Pak-Swedish trade volume would be increased to US$500 million increasing cooperation in information technology , textile, leather, pharmaceutical, livestock and engineering sectors.

Talking to the visiting Swedish trade delegation, led by Jan Palmstierna at the civil secretariat here on Wednesday, the minister said exchange of trade delegations would be enhanced between both the countries for exploring possibilities for increasing the bilateral trade volume.

He said Pakistan had become an ideal country for investment with world standard facilities as the investment procedure had been simplified and taxes reduced. The investors were free to transfer their capital along with the profit whenever they liked.

Inviting the Swedish business community to invest in the Sundar Industrial Estate and export processing zones in Punjab, the minister said investment climate in the province was business-friendly.
