PESHAWAR, Nov 24: An Afghan elder's son and his bodyguard were killed and he himself was injured when they were attacked in a mosque in the Yakatoot are on Wednesday.
Mr Nasrullah of Nangarhar province and son Rehman Gul were offering Zuhr prayers at Masjid-i-Farooq-i-Azam in Wali Abad locality of Yakatoot, when four armed men entered the mosque and opened fire.
Eye witnesses said that the attackers first killed the bodyguard and then opened fire on Nasrullah and his son. As a result Rehman Gul received multiple bullet injuries and died on the spot, while Nasrullah was injured and was rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital.
Nasrullah's neighbour in the Wali Abad locality, Noor Rehman told Dawn that some time ago his brother had been killed by his rivals Who belonged to the same province of Afghanistan. Mr Nasrullah, according to sources in police, later killed a man of his Afghan rivals in Peshawar and on Wednesday the opponent took revenge by killing his son.
He nominated five persons in the FIR. They included Khair Mohammad, Sultan Mohammad, Umair Gul and Subhan Ullah. Police have not arrested any accused nominated in the case. According to sources, the Afghan national has asked the police for protection. But the police denied to provide any security to him.
