SIALKOT, Oct 15: Compensation cheques of Rs11.5 million will be distributed among the heirs of 35 deceased and 68 injured of Zainabia Mosque blast.
The cheques will jointly be given by Punjab Labour Minister Syed Akhtar Hussain Rizvi, Punjab Power Minister Chaudhry Armughan Subhani, Punjab Industries Minister Muhammad Ajmal Cheema and District Nazim Mian Naeem Javaid.
DCO Syed Tahir Raza Naqvi told newsmen that a special ceremony would be held for this purpose at Anwaar Club auditorium here on Saturday (today). He said the first instalment of compensation would be from the Punjab government while the second from the federal government.
Mr Naqvi said that a cheque of Rs250,000 each would be given to the heirs of the deceased while a cheque of Rs50,000 each would be given to the injured.
RESOLUTIONS: Ulema from all schools of thought passed various resolutions against terrorism during their Friday sermons in all the Jamia mosques of the district.
They also pledged to promote peace, unity and religious harmony for weeding out terrorism. Meanwhile, the Friday prayers were offered amid tight security in all mosques of the district. Special prayers were also offered for the people who lost their lives in Sialkot, Multan, Karachi and Lahore bomb blasts.
