QUETTA, Oct 10: Persisting dry spell continued for the second day with the minimum temperature falling to one degree Centigrade and the maximum recorded at 15.5 degrees Centigrade on Sunday.
Dusty winds have been lashing the Quetta valley for the last two days, followed by a cold spell gripping the valley. Dust in suspension caused allergy and respiratory problems. Most of the affected persons suffered from cough.
The cold spell reduced the day temperature to 15.5 degrees Centigrade on Sunday as against 24.7 on Saturday. Night temperature fell to one degree Centigrade from seven degrees recorded on Saturday. The humidity ratio was 47 per cent.
Due to cold weather, people took out their woollies and warm clothes. Gas heaters and other arrangements to ward off cold were also adopted. Due to cold, people preferred to stay at home.
PIA operated all its flights according to schedule on Sunday as visibility improved. Local Met office has predicted dry and cold weather with dusty winds during the next 24 hours. -PPI
