HYDERABAD, Sept 21: The City Taluka Council here on Monday unanimously approved the auction of eight shops on rent at the Baldia Shopping Centre. The town officer, regulation, submitted a report before the council meeting in this regard.
Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Waheed Ajmeri said the open auction was a good step and all other such schemes should be disposed of in open auction to ensure transparency. Minority member Jagdesh Kumar presented the kidnapping case of trader Suresh Kumar before the council.
He said three months had lapsed but Mr Kumar had not been recovered, which had created a sense of insecurity among the minorities.
Convener Abdul Qadeer Naghar said the council was aware of the sensitivity of the issue and demanded that the government should taken practical steps to recover the trader. A resolution of Abdul Hameed about naming different roads in the city after prominent personalities was referred to the planning committee to ascertain their services.
