LAHORE, May 24: Around 20,000 teachers of secondary schools will be imparted training in the subjects of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology during the summer vacation under the Science Education Project.

This was stated by project director of the Secondary Science Education, Punjab, Mian Bashir Ahmad here on Friday.

He said the training of teachers on modern lines would help eliminate the traditional teaching methods in a few years.

Mian Bashir said the education department was giving priority to impart training to master trainers by holding special workshops regarding the usage and maintenance of scientific equipments and how to prepare science models.

Elaborating the programme, he said six groups having 25 teachers each would be trained at national education centre. These teachers would impart training to their colleagues in 70 regional training centres to be established at district level during summer vacation.

He said regional training centres equipping with latest technology had also been set up in every boys and girls secondary school at district headquarter level throughout the province. — Reporter
