HYDERABAD, Sept 13: The status of 77 development schemes, carried out against the allocation of Rs3.7 million in the preceding financial year and Rs1.3 million in the current financial year for each union council of Hala and Matiari talukas , was reviewed in a meeting here the other day.
District Nazim Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman presided over the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, the nazim said the district government was planning to provide basic facilities to people without any discrimination as development funds were being equally distributed among all union councils of the district.
He said 22 development schemes including four in UC Hala-I, five in UC Hala-II, two each in UC Hala old, Saeedabad and UC Karam Nizamani, three each in Zairpir and Bhali Dino Kaka and one in Shahmir Raho were carried out in the Hala taluka.
He said 17 schemes had been completed while remaining five including one each in UC Hala-I and II, UC Saeedabad and two schemes of UC Bhali Dino Kaka were near completion.
The nazim said 30 development schemes including three in UC Sekhat, two each in Bhitshah, Odero Lal village, Bau Pathan and Fakir Nooh Hathiani, seven in UC Tajpur, six in UC Alam Shah-Ji- Wasi, one development scheme in UC Odero Lal station and five in UC Matiari were carried out in the Matiari taluka.
He said of these 30 schemes, 26 had been completed while two one each in UC Sekhat and UC Alam Shah-Ji-Wasi were dropped and one scheme in UC Tajpur was revised. He directed officials concerned to complete all remaining development schemes by the end of the current year.
The district nazim urged nazims of union councils either to submit their schemes or propose extension of existing schemes in case funds provided to them had been saved.
He said 25 new development schemes including 12 for union councils of Hala taluka and 13 for union councils of Matiari taluka had been tendered under the portfolio of development schemes at the cost of Rs1.3 million for each union council. He said the district government had allocated another development portfolio upto the cost of Rs1.3 million for each union council.
