GUJRANWALA, Sept 8: The district and sessions judge on Wednesday awarded a fine of Rs3,000 to a person and forfeited Rs2,000 bailiff fee for moving a fake petition for the recovery of two women.

Reports said Bashir Ahmad of Dera Shah Jamal village filed a petition a week ago stating that his two relatives Raqia Bibi and Iqra Bibi were allegedly abducted and kept in illegal confinement by Abdul Rashid over a family issue.

The court appointed a bailiff for the recovery of the women. When the bailiff raided the village, Abdul Rashid and his accomplices attacked it with clubs and injured them.

Later, the Tetley police registered a case against the assailants and recovered women from their custody on the court's orders.

Police produced the women before the court where they said that no body had abducted them and they were residing there on their will as the house owner was their close relative. The court released the women from the police custody and fined Bashir for moving a fake petition.
