KARACHI, Sept 6: The Sindh High Court asked the city district government on Monday to ensure that an amenity plot meant for a children's park was developed and preserved as such.

The order was passed by Justice Maqbool Baqar, who dismissed a suit instituted by the organizer of a bazaar at 'China Ground', Kashmir Road. The plaintiff submitted that he had been licensed by the city district government to hold a bazaar every Tuesday on payment of Rs60,000 as fee for six months.

Appearing for the CDGK, Advocate Manzoor Ahmed stated that the defendant government had since rescinded the permission and refunded the amount of Rs60,000 deposited by the plaintiff.

He agreed that the premises known as 'China Ground' was earmarked for development of a park for children. The counsel assured the court on behalf of the city government that the plot would not be allowed to be used for commercial purposes in the future. Dismissing the suit, the court asked the CDGK to develop the park within a reasonable period of time.
