KARACHI, Sept 1: Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain has said that intelligence agencies were responsible for the dismemberment of Pakistan in 1971 and are continuing to hatch conspiracies for its further dismemberment.

He was addressing members of his party's labour wing in Karachi and Hyderabad over telephone from London. Alleging that the agencies were hatching conspiracies against the MQM also, he warned that their moves, without defeating the MQM, could cause "an alteration in the national boundaries."

Outlining the latest conspiracies, he challenged the agencies that they could do their utmost to buy Muttahida workers' loyalties, but would never succeed because MQM loyalists were not 'on sale'. They would, rather, sacrifice their lives, he declared. He said that those responsible for spreading gossips within the MQM were bound to fail and the MQM would remain intact.
