PESHAWAR: Gang-rape accused arrested

PESHAWAR, July 30: Police have arrested another accused in a gang-rape case from a village in the Charsadda district, while effort are being made to apprehend the third accused from the Bara area in the Khyber Agency.

A press release issued here on Friday said that the city police had arrested Abdul Khaliq alias Khalid on the night of July 17 from a local hotel where he and two of the hotel employees criminally assaulted a married woman guest from Kohat.

The press release said that the three accused had snatched Rs5,000 from the victim's uncle besides forcing them out of the hotel. Gul Daraz, son of Mehmood Khan, was arrested from his village Torlanday in Charsadda district, and the police had already recovered the amount he had snatched from the victim's uncle.

The police is still looking for the third accused, Bahadar, son of Mohabat Khan, a resident of Bara in Khyber Agency, who escaped after the registration of the FIR.
