SARGODHA: Naib Nazim, 12 others booked

SARGODHA, July 28: Satellite Town police registered a case against recently elected Naib Nazim of Bashir Colony (UC No 154) and 12 others under 16 MPO, Arms Ordinance and Amplifier Act for creating unrest by delivering speeches through loudspeakers and resorting to firing in the air to celebrate the victory of Naib Nazim Sadaqat Ali Khan who is reported to be the cousin of tehsil Nazim Dr Liaquat Ali Khan.

The case was reportedly registered on Wednesday on the instructions of Sargodha DIG. It is learnt that police have not even attempted to arrest any of the accused. Meanwhile, police registered a case under 16 MPO against Maulana Muhammad Ahmad Ludhianvi, central leader of defunct Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan and the Millat-i-Islami, along with one dozen other local leaders.

Maulana Ludhianvi, Maulana Akram Abid, Maulana Fateh Muhammad, Maulana Kifayatullah Naqvi, Maulana Ahmad Ali and others reportedly delivered provocative speech in a mosque of Sherazi Park and misused loudspeaker on Tuesday night.

The meeting was presided over by councillor Abdul Rahim Dogar. Police were raiding the houses of all the nominated people for their arrest. However, no arrest has so far been reported.

ROBBERY: Two armed motorcyclists snatched Rs122,000 in cash from the cashier of a petrol pump at gunpoint on Wednesday. Cashier Ghulam Mustafa told police that he was going to petrol pump.

The motorcyclists intercepted him near FG Public School adjacent to the district jail and sped away after robbing him of cash at gunpoint. The petrol pump is owned by MNA Inamul Haq Piracha.
