HYDERABAD, July 26: Unsuccessful candidates of the combined competitive Sindh Public Service Commission examination 2003-04 staged a demonstration and observed a hunger strike outside the press club on Sunday against alleged malpractice of the commission.
People's Party Parliamentarians MPA Zahid Bhurgari and Fayaz Shah also joined the hunger strikers to express solidarity with them. They appealed to the Chief Justice of Pakistan to take suo moto notice of the matter.
PPP leader Fayaz Shah said he had contacted Sindh chief of the party, Nisar Khuhro, and informed him about the whole matter who had promised to raise the issue in the Sindh assembly.
PPP: People's Party Parliamentarians MNA Nawab Ghani Talpur has submitted a call attention notice in the National Assembly against unprecedented load-shedding in Dadu district, specially Kotri, Sehwan and Kohistan and the issuance of illegal detection bills.
In a statement issued here on Sunday, he said growers who cultivated their lands on tube-wells were suffering irreparable losses due to unannounced and prolonged power breakdowns.
Mr Talpur, who is also a member of the housing and works committee of the National Assembly, expressed dissatisfaction over the repair of shrine of Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
