PESHAWAR, July 14: The Peshawar Electric Supply Company is observing loads hedding in the province due to excessive load on different grid stations.
This was stated by Superintending Engineer Ziaullah Khan of Pesco, Peshawar, while talking to reporters here on Wednesday. He was accompanied by Xen Mohammad Siddiq Awan.
He said that the load shedding was being conducted for three hours in the rural areas, while its duration was much less in the urban localities. He said that Pesco was compelled to carry out load-management in different areas due to excessive overloading.
He said that the load shedding was inevitable to save grid stations from being damaged as overloading always poses a threat to them. Mr Khan said that the duration of the load shedding in the urban areas where schools, hospitals and other communication facilities were present was kept minimum.
In the rural areas, the electricity supply would be disconnected for three hours with intervals, so that the costly equipment could be saved from getting damaged, he added.
