MANSEHRA, July 8: District Nazim Syed Ahmad Hussain Shah has said that the Mansehra district council budget for 2004-05 would be presented on July 12. Speaking to newsmen at his office on Thursday , he said that almost all the council members had been consulted and a consensus had been developed so that a balanced budget could be presented which would be free from any controversy.
He said that promotion of tourism industry, establishment of a relief fund for calamity hit areas and award of scholarships for the position holders in the matric and inter media examinations conducted by the BISE Abbottabad would be among the special features of the budget.
The district nazim said that there was no concept of treasury and opposition in the local government system and he had invited all members of the council, officers of the Planning and Development Department and other related agencies to a meeting for evolving a consensus on the budget.
Mr Shah said that all possible efforts would be made to ensure that development funds were distributed equally among all the 58 union councils of the district.
