DERA GHAZI KHAN, June 30: Boys clinched top two positions in the matriculation examination. The two toppers belonged to private schools and were among the 4,682 students who appeared in the examination with old course. Around 29,591 students appeared under the new course.

Muhammad Sherkoh Qaisrani of the District Public School got first position by getting 780 marks while the second position was shared by Muhammad Imran Shah of the same school and Elahi Bakhsh of the Misali Zakaria Higher Secondary School, Pir Jahanian (Muzaffargarh) by getting 774 marks. The third position went to Shazia Akbar of the Al-Mumtaz Model School Jampur (Rajanpur).

SCIENCE GROUP BOYS: The top positions mostly remained in the hands of the private schools. Muhammad Sherkoh Qaisrani got first position, Muhammad Imran Shah and Elahi Bakhsh shared second position with 774 marks and Muhammad Shahzad Haider and Muhammad Amjad Niaz Khan shared third position by getting 771 marks.

GENERAL GROUP BOYS: Muhammad Khuram Irshad of Muzaffargarh got 633 marks and topped the examination in this group. Muhammad Yousaf of the Government High School Alipur (Muzaffargarh) notched second position by getting 620 marks and Muhammad Nadeem of the Government High School, Jhoke Bodo, (Dera Ghazi Khan) and Muhammad Farooq of Rajanpur shared third position with 593 marks.

SCIENCE GROUP GIRLS: Shazia Akbar of the Al-Mumtaz Model school (Rajanpur) bagged first position by getting 772 marks while the second position was clinched by Sabila Naqvi of Layyah Girls Public School with 771 marks and third position by Ponum Mirani of the Layyah Public Girls Higher Secondary School. She secured 769 marks.

GENERAL GROUP GIRLS: Samreen Bano of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Kot Chutta, (Dera Ghazi Khan) bagged first position in the group with 720 marks. Saima Batool of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School Nutkani (Dera Ghazi Khan) got second position and Nadia Bibi of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Fazilpur, (Rajanpur) by got third position with 691 marks.
