TRG acquires US call centre firm

KARACHI, June 11: The Resource Group (TRG), the largest IT-enabled services company in Pakistan, announced on Friday, its acquisition of DCS Inc. (DCS), a South Dakota based provider of call centre services.

TRG is publicly traded on the Karachi Stock Exchange. The company employs an innovative business model which consists of taking controlling stakes in US call centre companies and enhancing their profitability by shifting a portion of their operations to its offshore facility in Pakistan, a company notice to the KSE said.

TRG stated that the company had made the acquisition through an investment in its existing portfolio company, Alert Communications, Inc. (Alert) which was the entity that had acquired all assets of DCS. "The DCS acquisition represents TRG's seventh acquisition in the US call centre industry", the notice said.

Zia Chishti, CEO of TRG was stated to have said that the DCS acquisition leveraged TRG's expertise in the tele services industry and further strengthened its existing investment in Alert.

"This is our third acquisition through a portfolio company and is a testament to the increasing options available to us as we grow the TRG family", the TRG CEO said.
