Riyadh-Tehran extradition treaty likely

RIYADH, June 10: Saudi Arabia and Iran have reached an understanding on the need for a judicial agreement covering extradition of wanted persons and transfer of prisoners to complete their sentences in their countries.

The understanding was reached during talks held in Tehran by Saudi Justice Minister Dr Abdullah bin Mohammad Al Sheikh, Saudi daily Arab News reported on Thursday.

London-based Arabic newspaper Al Hayat said the two sides had reached an initial understanding on the agreement.
