ISLAMABAD, May 27: Four matches were decided in the Kashmir Cup basketball championship being held at FF Centre Abbottabad, according to reports available here on Thursday.
In the first match, Punjab Blue beat Baloch Regiment 50-17. Abdul Rehman (22), Umar Butt (15) and Hasaan (6) were the main scorer for Punjab while Asad (13), and Kashif (4) played well for the runners-up.
The second match of the day saw Navy defeat Karachi by 91-23. Nisar (20), Naveed (13) and Ayaz (11) mainly scored for Navy while Sultan (12), Ghulam (4) and Umar (3) were prominent among Karachi team.
In the third match, PAF outplayed Punjab Juniors 96-31. Atif (17), Imran (16) and Gul Hassan (13) were airmen's main scorers while Zaheer (14), Imran (6) and Irfan (4) scored Punjab.
The last match of the day was won by Pakistan Rangers which beat Islamabad 72-44. Shahid (20), Naimat (14) and Murtaza (14) played well for the winners while Qamar (19), Shahzad (10) and Amjad (9) were the scorers for Islamabad team.
After the matches, a referees refresher course was conducted by Muhammad Naeem Sheikh which was attended by all the participating teams and their officials. -APP
