KARACHI, May 11: The provincial council of the PPP-SB has deplored the blast in the Haideri mosque and demanded arrest of the culprits involved in the incident.
The council, which met here on Monday with party chief Ghinwa Bhutto in the chair, also demanded immediate payment of compensation to the affected people and families of the deceased.
The meeting decisions were announced on Tuesday. Through a resolution, the party opposed announcement of the next NFC award on the basis of population and demanded that provinces should get their share according to their revenue collection.
It also expressed concern over shortage of water, especially drinking water, and demanded that Sindh must get its due share of river water. It also rejected the proposed Kalabagh dam and Greater Thal canal projects.
The council also strongly condemned intrusions into Pakistani territory by foreign troops and demanded immediate end to the Wana operation. The meeting deplored the US policies in Iraq and termed them a naked terrorism.
It called upon the US to pull out its troops from Iraq and stop committing excesses on the Iraqi people. It also deplored the treatment being meted out by the US troops to the Iraqi prisoners.
The meeting condemned the US-backed Israeli terrorism on Palestinian people. It called upon the government to fulfil the requirements of justice by pursing the Murtaza Bhutto murder case without delay.
Speaking on the occasion, Ghinwa Bhutto said the rulers had endangered the country's integrity and despite their claim of banishing corruption and corrupt elements, Gen Pervez Musharraf had himself admitted that he could not stop such elements from entering parliament.
She said that only a government which was elected by the people and commanded their respect could put the country on the road to progress and asked the rulers to learn lessons from the history.
