TOBA TEK SINGH, May 7: The PML-N leaders have condemned the arrest of party leaders and workers to prevent them from going to Lahore on May 11 to receive Mian Shahbaz Sharif.
In separate press statements issued here on Friday, former MNA M Hamza, former minister Mian Sadaur Rehman, DBA former president Mian Shahid Iqbal, divisional PML youth wing president Mian Amjad Ali Javed and district secretary, Advocate Rana Anwar, said the arrests and harassing of party workers and leaders was a violation of the Supreme Court order.
BAHAWALPUR: Former MNA Mumtaz Ahmad Jajja, former MPA Samiullah Chaudhry, Saood Majid Chaudhry and Mahar Iqbal at a press conference here on Friday condemned the large scale arrests of party activists.
They claimed that the government seemed frightened and arrests were a proof of the fact. They said with the arrival of Mr Sharif a new life would be injected in the country's politics.
They said the leader's return was not a result of any deal with the government. They pledged to continue struggle for the restoration of real democracy and oust the present government.
SHEIKHUPURA: PML-N central joint secretary Barjees Tahir was arrested by city B-division police under MPO 3. A police spokesman said he was taken into custody from his residence and sent to jail for 90 days.
