DADU, May 6: A man and a woman were killed on the pretext of Karo-kari near Bhan Saeedabad town on Wednesday night. Deedar Rodhnani, 30, was shot dead by three armed men on the Bhan-Chhinni link road.

The Bhan Saeedabad police registered an FIR against Miro, Mehmood and Haji Rodhnani on the complaint of Liaquat Ali, the brother of the killed man. Safina, 20, daughter of Ali Hassan, was shot dead by Miro in Khadi village after being declared Kari with Deedar.

The Bhan Saeedabad police on the complaint of Piral Rodhnani, the uncle of the killed woman, registered another FIR against accused Miro Rodhnani.

INJURED: Three people were injured in a clash between two groups over an old enmity in Khairpur Nathan Shah town on Thursday. Dhani Bux, Noor Ahmed and Basheer received bullet injuries. The Khairpur Nathan Shah police registered an FIR against six persons of the two groups.

INVESTIGATION: The FIA on Thursday initiated an investigation against Hesco SDO Mehar, line superintendent and lineman Dadu for issuing detection and inflated bills to businessmen. The FIA initiated the inquiry after receiving complaints from businessmen of Dadu.

PROTEST: Residents of 50 villages held a demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday to protest against suspension of power supply for 18 hours and issuance of inflated bills.

The consumers were carrying banners, inscribed with slogans against the SDO of Hesco, Dadu. Speaking on the occasion, Syed Qurban Shah alleged that the Hesco officials were suspending power supply for 18 hours by creating artificial faults in the cables of feeders in the Dadu sub-division of the company.
