KARACHI, May 5: The second phase of Intermediate annual examinations, (Humanities) would commence on May 29, Controller of Examination of Board Of Intermediate Education, announced on Wednesday.

The BIE Controller of Examination, Prof Asif Pasha, said on Wednesday that HSC examination for regular and private candidates would be held in the afternoon shift at centres planned at colleges.

The practical of HSC science examinations would be held in the morning shift as soon as the respective theory examinations are completed, he added. He said that detailed schedule would be issued within a week.

Referring to the ongoing examinations of the first phase, he said that so far 30 cases of unfair means had been reported to the Board by vigilance officers and centre superintendents.

Meanwhile, examinations were delayed for sometimes in the afternoon shift at PECHS Foundation College on Wednesday due to non-availability of furnitures, said a source privy to examination process.

It was learnt that the delay occurred due to miscalculation of the number of candidates for the day, when Urdu (normal) paper was being held. Students were however compensated for the late commencement of examination at the centre.

Another source said that in the absence of adequate security arrangements, outsiders entered the centre set up at Govt Inter College for Boys, 36-B, Landhi No 4, and created disturbance on Wednesday in the first shift of examination. However, situation was brought under control with the arrival of rangers. Short supply of question papers at Islamia Arts College was also reported in the first shift.
