ISLAMABAD, May 2: The national squash players once again failed to make any worthwhile improvement in the latest international rankings announced by the Professional Squash Association (PSA).

Former Asian junior champion Mansoor Zaman retained his place as Pakistan's top-ranked player on the world circuit by sticking on to his No.19 place in the May rankings.

Mansoor's younger cousin Shahid Zaman, whom he beat in the final of the 9th South Asian Federation (SAF) Games squash competition in Islamabad last month, fell one place down to No. 36. Farrukh, the youngest of the Zaman cousins, retained his No. 40 position on the PSA rankings.

Other Pakistanis in the top 100 rankings are: Arshad Iqbal Burki (65), Majid Khan (66), Safeerullah Khan (71), Saeed Hassan (72), Farhan Mahboob (73), Yasir Butt (86), Khayal Mohammad (87), Kashif Shuja (96), Khalid Atlas (97), and Kumail Mahmood (99). -PPI
