LAHORE, April 30: The National Open tennis championship schedule was badly disrupted due to heavy rain in Lahore on Friday. Both the semifinals of the men's singles were due to begin when the downpour started in the afternoon.

Top seed Aisam ul Haq was to meet Aasim Shafik while second seed Aqeel Khan had to face Nomi Qamar. The organizers will announce the rescheduled programme later. Meanwhile, some matches in the above-55 and 45 age categories were decided.

Results: Above 55 (quarterfinals): R.I Singh and Rajwade (India) bt Zulifqar Awan and partner 6-1, 6-2.

Above 45: Rao Iftikhar and Zahid Zafar bt Jasjit Singh-Mirza Inam Baig 7-5, 6- 1; Major Talha and Omer Qayyum bt Brig. Nisar and Partner 6-2, 6-2; Najam and R.I Singh bt Fayyaz Chaudhary and Partner 6-1, 6-2.
