ISLAMABAD, April 29: Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) has earned net profit of Rs19.53bn in first three quarters of the current financial year. The profit after tax has increased remarkably by 26.3 per cent or Rs4.07bn to Rs19.53bn for the first nine months of 2003-04 as compared to Rs15.46bn during the same period last year.
According to PTCL this represents the net profit margin of 35.4 per cent as compared with 31.4 last year. The Board of Directors of the company in its meeting chaired by Zafar A Khan here on Thursday approved the unaudited accounts for July-March 2003-04 period.
The profit before taxation was Rs30.534bn during the period which is 26.7 per cent higher as compared to corresponding period last year. The earning per share was increased to Rs3.83 from Rs3.03.
Total revenue for the period came out to Rs55.11bn as compared to Rs49.19bn of corresponding period of last year, showing a rise of 12 per cent. -APP
