LARKANA, April 28: A woman and her daughter were killed allegedly by their relative on the outskirts of the city on Wednesday. Mohammed Chuttal Channo, carrying Husna, 50, her daughter Hasina, 28 , and her minor granddaughter on a motorcycle, exchanged hot words with the elderly woman near Baqapur police post, police said.

He stopped the motorcycle, fired at Husna and killed her on the spot. As Hasina began screaming, he also shot her dead and escaped leaving behind the two and half years old baby.

Police arrived at the scene, took the baby into custody and shifted the bodies to the mortuary of the Chandka Medical College Hospital. A police officials said that the double murder was caused by a matrimonial dispute and the family members of the deceased were not nominating anyone in the case.

The girl was handed over to her father. Police said that they had raided the house of the accused but it had been vacated by its inmates.
