PESHAWAR, April 28: The Peshawar University Teachers' Association (Puta) has demanded that the university administration rescind its decision to increase fees in all its affiliated schools.

According to a press release issued here on Tuesday, the general body meeting discussed problems faced by Class III and Class IV employees. The association also prepared a charter of demands.

The members termed unreasonable the decision of the administration to increase the fees in the University Model School, Islamia Collegiate and the University Public School.

The children of employees should be given priority during admissions in different institutions, the members demanded. They also demanded of the administration to restore medical facilities to employees. They also demanded that admissions to the M.Phil courses should also be restarted for scholars.

The university had constituted few selection boards which had not started functioning practically. The university employees also demanded for the advertising of all the vacant posts in the university.

The members demanded of the NWFP government to give annual increments to the ad hoc employees. The general body including the members from Puta, Islamia College Teachers' Association and Schools Teachers' Association said that if the administration and the provincial government didn't pay heed to their demands within 10 days then they would decide for a plan of action in the next meeting.
