KARACHI, April 27: Seven students were injured in a clash between two student groups outside the Islamia Arts and Commerce College on Tuesday. Police registered two different cases but no arrests were made.
Earlier, on Monday, seven other students had been injured when two groups fought with each other at the City College in Musa Colony, Federal B Area. On Tuesday, a clash erupted outside the Islamia Arts & Commerce College, when the students of two organizations, Islami Jamiat Talaba and All Pakistan Mohajir Students Orgnaization, traded taunting remarks against each other.
In a free-for-all, the students of both the groups used clubs, kicks and blows against each other and fled before the police arrived at the scene. According to the hospital sources, the four injured IJT activists are identified as Arman, Faizan, Sikandar and Sa'ad, while Zeeshan, Amanullah and Zargham of the APMSO were also injured.
Later, both the groups went to the Jamshed Quarters police station to register cases against each other. The police registered an FIR (100/04) on the complaint of Arman of the IJT. He nominated Zeeshan, Rizwan, Arif, Farhan, Amanullah and others for attacking and injuring the IJT activist.
In a counter FIR (101/04), Zeeshan nominated Arman, Sikandar, Asim and others on similar allegations as levelled earlier by their rivals. The police sources said that another possible clash was averted on Tuesday when the members of the two rival groups started gathering near the Dawood College of Engineering and Technology. However, the police reached the spot and baton-charged the students to disperse them, the sources added.
