DADU, April 21: Hesco employees staged demonstrations in different towns on Wednesday against the compulsory retirement of three employees and dismissal of a worker in Khairpur Nathan Shah and Johi sub-divisions.

They marched on the main roads of Mehar, Khairpur Nathan Shah, Dadu, Sehwan and Johi towns. Hesco employees told this correspondent that the compulsory retirement of three linemen Ghulam Nabi Panhwar, Ghulam Mustafa Khuhro and Ghulam Sarwar Channa and dismissal of meter reader Abdul Khaliq was illegal.

They said that they were deprived of their jobs on the pretext of less recovery and wrong meter readings. They said that the linemen were punished by SDOs on personal basis. When contacted, Hesco's Dadu executive engineer Dilawar Memon said that the officials were compulsory retired due to a low recovery and wrong meter reading.

POWER SUPPLY RESTORED: Hesco superintending engineer Habibullah Khilji said on Wednesday that the power supply to Mehar taluka was fully restored on Tuesday night. The power supply was suspended after burning of cables and other instruments in the Mehar grid station on Sunday night.
