KARACHI, April 19: The Board of Intermediate Education, Karachi, has registered 122,491 candidates in the first phase of HSC annual exams commencing from April 28, said an official source.
The BIE would set up 103 examination centres in the morning shift for pre-medical, pre-engineering, science general and home economics candidates. For regular and private candidates of commerce group, another 62 examination centres would be set up in the afternoon shift. About 76,018 candidates would take the exams in the first shift and 46,473 in the second shift.
The group-wise breakup of number of candidates is as follows: 13,580 candidates in Premedical Part-I; 12,696 in Premedical Part-II; 24,833 in Pre-engineering Part-I; 23,860 in Pre-engineering Part-II; 524 in Home Economics Part-I and 525 in Home Economics Part-II; 19,747 in Commerce (Regular) Part-I; 16,338 in Commerce (Regular) Part-II; 5446 in Commerce (Private) Part-I; and 4,942 candidates have been registered for Commerce (Private) Part-II examination. According to the BIE schedule, the exams would be completed on May 20.
