PESHAWAR, April 14: The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) kicked off its campaign in the Karak district to ensure enrolment of every child between the age of five and seven years in schools.

The campaign, a part of the NCHD's universal primary education programme, would ensure the enrolment of all children of schoolgoing age.

In this connection, a ceremony was organized in the Karak town that was presided over by MNA Maulana Shah Abdul Aziz. District Nazim Sharif Khattak, NCHD representatives and official of the education and social welfare departments were also present on the occasion.

Later, a walk was held to raise awareness among the people to enrol children in schools. NCHD representative Javed Marwat told Dawn by telephone that the "every child in school" drive would continue for one week and it would be ensured that no child in the age group of five and seven years remained out of school. He hoped that the campaign would make possible 100 per cent enrolment of children in schools.
