LAHORE April 14: An accountability court on Wednesday recorded the statement of one more prosecution witness in a reference against PPP secretary-general and former federal minister Jehangir Badr and adjourned the proceedings for April 27.
Muzaffar Ali recorded his statement before the court, and was cross-examined by the defence counsel. The NAB in the reference alleged Badr being minister and senator from 1988 to 2000 acquired assets worth Rs10 million, having the market value of more than Rs50 million, in his own name and in the name of his dependents.
STILL RICH: Another accountability court extended the judicial remand of two directors of a forex and brokerage company for another 15 days on the request of the NAB.
The NAB alleged that Dr Javaid Shab Khaiz and Saleem Sarwar had established a forex company in the name of Still Rich with the help of other directors. Later, they committed a fraud of Rs638 million with the general public on the pretext of giving them huge profits, the NAB alleged. -PPI
