Karachi take lead over Pindi

KARACHI, April 7: A superb knock of 150 by Hasan Raza enabled Karachi secure a slender but vital lead of 17 runs on the first innings against Rawalpindi on the third day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy tie at the UBL Sports Complex on Wednesday.

Karachi, overnight 243 for four, added another 180 runs before being all out for 423 i reply to Rawalpindi's 423. Hasan, who resumed at 83, was eighth out at 380 after striking 17 fours and three sixes during his 18th first-class century while facing 297 balls in a stay of 306 minutes.

Rawalpindi were 132 for four in the second innings with Ashar Zaidi contributing 66, which included 12 fours.
