LANDI KOTAL, March 23: Various areas in the tribal agency experience electrical problems, including load- shedding and low voltage, consumers complained on Tuesday.
People living in the Loe Salman area complained of prolonged load-shedding for more than the past three months while Inam Gul, a resident of the Ghundakhel locality, said that there was not a day when the area did not encounter electrical outages lasting more than 16 hours.
Blaming wapda authorities for the persistent load-shedding, he told this correspondent that brown-outs had damaged a lot of electrical appliances in their area.
Areas affected by load-shedding included Yusufkhel, Narai and Arbabkhel. Mr Bashir, a resident of Yusufkhel, said that the people had lodged a number of complaints with Wapda authorities in this regard, adding that no action had so far been taken.
Mr Zaheerullah, a cricket enthusiast lamented that the area's youth were deprived of the pleasure of watching cricket matches being played between Pakistan and India.
Loe Shalman is some 25 kilometres North of Landi Kotal with a population of more than 30,000. The area is provided electricity from a 32-KV grid station at Landi Kotal. People of the area have urged Wapda officials to announce a timetable for power management instead of subjecting them to unannounced load-shedding.
