TIMERGARA: Boy killed in bomb blast

TIMERGARA, March 11: A young boy was killed, while his father received serious injuries in a bomb blast in the Balambat tehsil of Lower Dir district on Thursday.

The victim, identified as 14-year-old Ziaur Rehman, was carrying lunch for his father, Fateh Mehmood, who worked in a water mill in the Bandi village in Maidan area. When the boy close to the mill area stepped on a bomb which was hidden in the ground, it exploded.

As a result, both father and son were seriously injured. They were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Timergara, where Ziaur Rehman died. According to the police, the bomb was planted near the water mill.

The explosion was so big that it shook the entire area, witnesses said. Injured Fateh Mehmood told police that they had no enmity with anybody. The Lal Qilla police station has registered a case.
