KARACHI, March 10: All nationalist parties in Sindh have decided to evolve a common strategy with regard to different issues. They have also urged the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) to call off its indefinite hunger strike.

A joint meeting of the nationalist parties, hosted by Ameer Bukhsh Bhutto, was held on Wednesday at the residence of Mumtaz Ali Bhutto, according to a press release issued by the Sindh Nationalist Front (SNF).

The meeting was attended by Rasool Bukhsh Palijo (Awami Tehrik), Dr Qadir Magsi (Sindh Taraqqi Pasand Party), Bashir Khan Qureshi (JSQM), Rasool Bukhsh Thebo (Jeay Sindh Mahaz), Gul Muhammad Jakhrani (Sindh Nationalist Front), Mohammad Ayub Shar, Abdul Wahid Aresar, Ahmed Mujtaba Rashdi, Abrar Qazi, Haider Shahani, Ali Hasan Chandio and Qadir Ranto.

The participants discussed various regional and national issues, political situation prevailing in the province, water and reservoirs issue, and unsatisfactory law and order situation.

The leaders agreed to join hands and launch a common struggle for the rights of Sindh. They strongly criticized the government for not taking notice of JSQM hunger strike, and appealed to the JSQM to call it off.

The meeting discussed a plan to block the roads leading to Punjab and a march towards Lahore to get the water issue resolved. It decided to finalize the plan in next meetings. The leaders also condemned MPA Abdullah Murad's killing and demanded inclusion in the FIR of the names of those identified by the MPA's relatives. - PPI
