QUETTA, Feb 20: A Balochistan High Court bench, comprising Justice Nadir Khan Durrani, adjourned the hearing of petitions challenging the cancellation of plots in Gwadar Singhar Housing Scheme after the provincial government did not submit a reply in this regard.
The hearing was adjourned after Additional Advocate-General of Balochistan Ghulam Mustafa Mengal on Thursday informed the court that Chief Minister Jam Mohammad Yousuf has formed a committee to review the housing scheme, adding it would take a decision in this regard.
The high court had earlier suspended the provincial government's move to cancel the scheme's plots after petitions were filed by some of the allotees. Earlier, a committee formed by the Balochistan Assembly on Wednesday reviewed the allotments of plots by the Quetta Development Authority at the new bus stand at Hazarganji.
The committee, presided over by Balochistan Local Government Minister Maulana Hussain Ahmed Shurudy discussed the allotments and shifting of the bus stand.
Services and General Administration Minister Mir Abdur Rehman Jamali, Revenue Minister Mir Asim Kurd, opposition MPAs Akhtar Hussain Langoo and Abdur Rahim Ziaratwal, the law secretary and the QDA director-general attended the meeting.
