HYDERABAD, Feb 6: Almost all hospitals in the interior of Sindh, including Civil Hospital Hyderabad, were facing a shortage of anti-rabies vaccine, sources told this correspondent on Friday.
The ARV is supplied to major health centres of the province directly by the National Institute of Health and to small health centres through import and inspection depot, Karachi.
The sources said the CHH needed around 1000 vials of ARV annually but it was supplied with only 420 vials between July 1, 2003 and Jan 14, 2004.
The sources claimed CHH medical superintendent Dr Shafqat Memon contacted higher authorities in this regard but not a single vial was furnished to the CHH.
