RAWALPINDI, May 17: Water supply from Khanpur Dam project will soon be extended to Khayaban-i-Sir Syed, Pirwadhai and Satellite Town after a survey of pipelines in these areas, a Wasa press release said on Friday.

At present, water from the project is being supplied to Shamsabad on experimental basis.

The press release said with the help of supply from the project, Wasa will overcome water shortage in the city by August.

It is worth mentioning here that in last July and January and March this year, Wasa had made claims about the completion of the project and overcoming water shortage in almost all parts of the city. However, people, in most of the areas, are still facing water scarcity.

The shares of Wasa, Rawalpindi Cantonment Board and Capital Development Authority in the supply from Khanpur Dam are 28.2 per cent, 33 per cent and 38.2 per cent, respectively.
