LAHORE, Jan 29: Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Qasim Zia has proposed a 20-member joint law and order observer group, comprising MPAs from both sides, for a regular appraisal and making public facts about situation in the province.
"Such a group has become necessary because the law and order situation in the province is far from satisfactory and the Pervaiz Elahi government has failed in its constitutional duty of protecting the lives and properties of people," he said at a news conference here on Thursday.
Mr Zia proposed the group to comprise eight MPAs each from the treasury and the opposition with four administrative officers to take stock of the law and order situation every fortnight.
