ISLAMABAD, Jan 29: The government has decided to convene the National Assembly session in the second week of February to table the bill seeking assent of parliament to the National Security Council act which was approved by the federal cabinet on Wednesday, sources said.

The ARD and its allied parties have also announced to requisition the NA session soon after Eidul Azha in order to discuss the issue of nuclear scientists' debriefing.

No definite date has been fixed, but the likely dates for the session were said to be Feb 9 or 13, the sources said. The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has filed an adjournment motion in the National Assembly against the arrest of country's nuclear scientists, their debriefing and humiliation.

MMA MNA Farid Paracha, who submitted the motion with speaker's chamber told reporters that the religio-political alliance would contact other political parties to tackle the issue of scientists' arrest.

He said that the adjournment motion says, "parliament ought to be taken into confidence in an ideological democratic state and the government had showed scant respect for parliament on this account."

Mr Paracha said the supreme council of the MMA would hold its meeting soon after Eidul Azha to chalk out its strategy to run a countrywide movement against nuclear scientists' debriefing as well as inside the parliament.
