LAHORE, Jan 26: Punjab University Teaching Departments (PUTD) led the opening day of the 57th Annual Punjab University Women Inter-collegiate athletics championship with 30 points on Monday.

Government College Satellite Town, Gujranwala (GCSTG) secured eight and Government College of Physical Education (GCPE) six to occupy the second and third position, respectively. In all, eight finals were decided. Three more finals will be held on Tuesday, the final day of the meet.

Results:

100m hurdles: Nabila Raza (PUTD) 19.14 sec, Yamima James (PUTD), Amna Khalid (Government Gulberg College).

200m race: Safia Dar (GCWSG) 28.63 sec, Rabia Akram (GCWSF), Beenish Amin (PUTD).

400m race: Iffat Niaz (PUTD) 17.14 sec, Amina Khalid (GCWGL), Safia Dar (GCWTG).

Javelin throw: Ulfat Perveen (GCPEWL), 32.50 metre, Safia Dar (GCWSG), Riffat Saleem (GCPEL).

Discus throw: Rabia Rishi (PUTD) 27.50 metre, Iffat Bano (PUTD), Mehreen Fatima (GCW Samundri) and Bushra Rehman (GFJC, Chuna Mandi Lahore) joints.

4x400m relay: Government College for Women Satellite Town, Rawalpindi,5 min 4.18 sec (Noor-ul-Ain, Mehwish, Tanzeela, Amna Niaz); PUTD (Yamima James, Iffat Bano, Najma-un-Nisa, Shagufta Kousar); GovernmentCollege for Women, Samundri (Nadeem Asghar, Tabinda Akhlaq, Mehreen Fatima, Sidar Rashid).

High-jump: Raheela Ayaz (PUTD) 1.25 metre, Safida Dar (GCWSTG), Mafia Butt (PUTDSA).

1500m race: Amna Awan (GCWBL) and Uzma Shahzadi (GCWS) joint.
