KARACHI, Jan 25: A media forum on "education for all" (EFA), organized by the Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF), in collaboration with the UNESCO, being held in Karachi on Jan 27.
It will enable stakeholders in education to interact with experts and explain issues and problems associated with the spread of literacy in Pakistan, with special emphasis on Sindh.
Ms Ingeborg Breines, director UNESCO Pakistan, and Hasan Keynan Abidi of UNESCO, will make a presentation on education for all concept and global situation, EFA situation in Pakistan: problems; issues and prospects by Dr Arshad Saeed Khan.
Sindh education secretary Ghulam Ali Pasha will chair panel session on "education status in Pakistan: indicators, problems and issues". Dr Gordon Macleod, Director Aga Khan University's Institute of education development, will chair panel session on "Organizations working to promote literacy".
Sindh information secretary, Mehtab Rashdi, will chair another panel session on "Role of media in mobilising support to achieve EFA goals in Pakistan". Sindh chief minister Sardar Ali Muhammad Mahar is likely to be chief guest at closing session, to be presided by the Sindh education minister Irfanullah Khan Marwat.-PPI
