JACOBABAD: Breaches flood six villages

JACOBABAD, Jan 21: Six villages and wheat crop over hundreds of acres came under water following breaches occurred in two canals in Thull taluka.

A 30-foot-wide breach occurred in the San Wah canal near the Budho Bhatti village in Thul taluka on Tuesday. About 50 houses and crop over hundreds of acres land were inundated.

The villagers plugged the breach on self-help basis as no irrigation official reached the spot. In another incident, a 15-foot wide breach occurred in the Naseer canal near the Mehboob Soomro village on Wednesday.
