KARACHI, Jan 18: A man was arrested on Sunday for killing his five-year-old son and burying his body in Orangi Town. Police said that suspect's wife, Saima, informed the police on Jan 14 , that her husband, Jehangir, had taken away her son, Nasir.
The police raided and arrested the suspect, who, during interrogation, told the police that he had killed the boy and buried the boy in Yaqoobabad, sector 11-1/2.
The police went to the location and recovered the body from a shallow grave. The suspect told the police that he was convinced that Nasir was not his son.
KILLED: Four persons died in road accidents in different parts of the city on Sunday. A middle-aged woman died in a road accident in Site on Sunday.
Police said that Mateena, 35, was knocked down by a speeding bus (JA-117) of I-C route, near the Habib Bank Chowrangi. The victim was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The errant driver escaped from the spot following the accident leaving the vehicle behind. A young boy was knocked to death by a dumper in Steel Town on Sunday.
Police said that Waheed Khan, six, was hit by a dumper, which was driven away from the spot. Victim's body was shifted to the JPMC for the post-mortem examination. A young girl died at NIPA traffic section, when she was hit by a passenger coach on Sunday.
Police said that Fareeda, six, was getting off from Shiraz coach when she got crushed beneath the rear wheels of the same vehicle. The girl died on the spot. Her body was shifted to the JPMC by the police.
In another accident, a security guard of a private company died when a trailer knocked him down in Bin Qasim. Police said that Awal Khan, 35, was on his duty in the Port Qasim when a reversing trailer hit him in the head. He was taken to a private hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
